I'm thinking the Hamas leaders knew exactly what they were doing when they chose that Hebrew word as their name. Kind of like choosing the emergency code 9-1-1 as the date to unleash terror on the US.

It's definitely a possibility! That would also fit because of their hatred for Israel. While it's an acronym (to a degree), it's a little too obvious to think something (or Someone) was behind their choice for the name of the terrorist group as if it were a rallying cry!

Very interesting, it does seem like a strange "coincidence." Maybe prophetic and also, that the founders of Hamas chose their name bc they knew the meaning of the word and they're against the Jewish people. I think certainly, both can be true.
